Company Overview

BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Investors Independent Trust Company was founded in 1996 as a non-depository State chartered trust company regulated by the Colorado Division of Banking. The same stringent statutes that apply to trust departments within large bank holding companies and local banks govern us. Our board of directors exemplifies our mission to provide our clients with the highest quality of fiduciary and wealth management services available in our marketplace, thereby solidifying strong client and professional relationships which create value for our clients, employees, and shareholders.

Herb McPherson
With more than 33 years of trust and banking experience, Herb brings a high level of leadership capabilities to the board of directors. He is currently serving as the president of the Association of Independent Trust Companies, a national trade group that has more than $48 billion in assets under management. Active on the board of the Boulder County, Colorado Estate Planning Council, he is now the treasurer and will be the President in two years. Herb is also a board member of the Association of Colorado Trust Companies, which represents $20 billion in trust assets.

Kristine E. Anderson
Kristy has been on the board of directors since the company's inception. She has a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Denver College of Law and is a member of the Colorado Bar. Her practice of law included private practice with Weinberger & Kanan, a Colorado firm specializing in insurance defense and workers’ compensation law. Currently, Kristy has her own practice of law with an emphasis in workers’ compensation defense litigation. Her B.A. degree in finance and geography, with Distinction, is from the University of Colorado. Currently the co-owner and secretary of The Fresh Herb Company, a Boulder, Colorado-based organic farm, Kristy is active in many community causes.

Frank Danzo
Frank Danzo Jr. is Of Counsel with the Law Practice of Chayat & Danzo, LLC, based in Denver, CO. Frank is a 1972 graduate of the University of Missouri, School Of Law, and was admitted to the Colorado Bar the same year. Prior to starting his law practice he was a Trust Officer for a National Bank where he served as a Personal Representative and Trustee. He is currently a member of the Colorado Bar Assoc. Committee for Legal Problems of the Elderly. Frank has been a member of the Denver Estate Planning Council since 1977. During his career he has acted as a Resource Consultant for numerous Major Corporation and not-for-profit groups.

Sharyl J. Harston
With more than 30 years in the corporate human resource environment, Sharyl brings well-honed skills to manage “human capital” in large and small organizations. She is currently director of human resources at the Colorado Public Employees’ Retirement Association. Prior to that, Sharyl ran her own consulting firm, AlphaLeader. She held professional HR positions at BlueCross BlueShield Colorado, Petroleum Information Corporation (a Dun & Bradstreet information services company), Twentieth Century Fox, Teledyne and Bell & Howell. Other board of directors seats include: Rocky Mountain Life, HMO Colorado Occupational Healthcare Management Services, Starlight Children’s Foundation and the Colorado Children’s Campaign. Sharyl has a degree in psychology from California State University, Northridge.

Shalia McPherson
With her technology and customer service background at large financial institutions and banks, Shalia brings an institutional sales and systems expertise to Investors Trust. When she was at SEI, she served as the project lead for major systems conversions to the SEI platform when new, institutional clients were integrated into the large company. She was the senior product manager for Eagle Trust Company, SEI’s trust firm, and conducted in-depth analysis of institutional client needs. Shalia is a problem solver who is fluent in multiple technology and operations languages so that she can best serve institutional clients with specific needs. She is active in her local church and has served on various community boards.
